1997’s Time out of Mind is widely considered the beginning of a return to form for Bob Dylan following a relative creative drought of about twenty years.  Dylan’s voice on these songs is a voice of experience.  Mortality, romantic love, and spirituality are recurring themes.  The music and lyrics of these songs borrow considerably from various traditions, including novels, classic literature, nonfiction, and roots music.
